Stop Waiting a Month for a New IR Lamp
There is nothing worse than a production line grinding to a halt because you’re waiting on a replacement IR lamp from some giant global brand. A month of downtime? That’s a nightmare. We do things differently. We keep a massive hoard of raw quartz tubes and tungsten filaments on hand. Because we aren’t waiting for shipments to arrive, we can spec out your custom lamp and have it in your hands in7 days.
Getting the Heat Just Right
If you’re working with food, you can’t just “wing it” with wattage and voltage. Too low, and your product is under-cooked. Too high, and you’ve just fried your lamp. We build these to your exact length and power needs. If you’ve got a tiny space but need a ton of heat, we can crank up the wattage per centimeter. Just a heads-up though: pushing more power into a shorter tube increases the internal pressure. Make sure your power supply is rock solid, or you’ll be looking at a burnt-out filament way sooner than you’d like.
The Nitty-Gritty on Materials
We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because it can take a beating. Thermal shock is a killer, and this stuff holds up. For the food crowd, we also offer special coatings. These shift the heat spectrum so the energy actually hits the moisture in the food, rather than just heating up your conveyor belt. Then there’s the wiring. Honestly, that’s where most things go wrong. To keep it simple, we use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re basic drop-in replacements. You don’t have to tear apart your entire rack or rewire a thing—just swap the lamp, flip the switch, and you’re back in business.
A Few Real-World Trade-offs
These lamps are great for searing or drying because the heat is instant. But there’s a catch. High-output shortwave lamps put off a lot of ambient heat. If you’re stuffing these into a tight box, your exhaust fans need to be up to the task. If the air doesn’t move, your connectors will overheat and literally melt. We’ll build the lamps exactly how you want them, but you’ve got to handle the airflow.
