
Stop Waiting on OEM Lamps for Your SIG Blow Molding Line
There is nothing worse than a blow molding line grinding to a halt because an OEM lamp burned out. You’re stuck waiting for a brand-specific replacement while your production clock is ticking. It’s a headache nobody needs. That’s why we built our infrared lamps to be simple, drop-in replacements. Whether you’re running SIG or another global system, we focused on the stuff that actually matters: the heat, the power, and the fit. The science part (kept simple) To make sure these work in about 95% of the machines out there, we kept the electrical specs standard. We build our tubes in the common high-voltage setups—like 230V and 400V—and match the wattage to what those big European and Asian machines are already expecting. We use short-wave infrared. Why? Because it punches straight into the PET preform without wasting energy heating up the air around it. It’s a delicate balance. Too little wattage and your cycle times crawl. Too much and you’re scorching the plastic. We spent the time tweaking the filament density so the heat feels exactly like the original. Built to actually fit We use heavy-wall quartz glass. It’s tough. It can handle the thermal shock of rapid cycling without cracking. As for the connectors, we stick to the basics like R7s and SK15. You just plug them in. No hacking, no modifying sockets, no “making it work.” It just works. Plus, a lot of our tubes have a special coating that bounces the heat back toward the preform. You get more heat where you need it and less heat soaking into your machine frame. A quick heads-up on power Here is the thing: if you go with higher wattage lamps, you’ll heat up faster. That’s great, but it puts more pressure on your power supply. Just double-check that your transformers and wiring can handle the extra load. If you push the wattage too far beyond the original design, your cooling fans are going to have to work overtime to keep the oven from getting too hot.
