Why ceramic? (And why it matters for your dough)
We use food-grade ceramics because they can take a beating. Bread ovens go through intense heat swings, and metal elements tend to oxidize or flake over time. Nobody wants little bits of metal raining down into their dough. Ceramic stays stable. It just does its job. But there’s a catch: watt density. If we jam too much power into a tiny space, you get hot spots. You’ll end up with a burnt crust and a raw center. We spend a lot of time balancing the wattage against the surface area so the heat flows steadily and evenly.
Making it fit your actual machine
We do more than just trim the length. We can tweak the bend radius and where the terminals sit so the heater actually fits your chassis. Whether you need a U-shape, a spiral, or something a bit more stepped, we build it to be a simple drop-in replacement. And here is the thing: the wiring is usually where things go south. Most failures happen at the connection. To stop that, we use reinforced terminals and high-temp leads that won’t fry during constant heating and cooling cycles. A few things to keep in mind
Custom ceramic elements are great for precision, but they aren’t instant. They have more “thermal inertia” than something like a quartz lamp, meaning they take a bit longer to get up to temp. You’ll need to account for that warm-up lag in your PLC timing. If your process needs to snap on and off instantly, let us know.
